I have been using this for years and will continue because 1) it does not contain peroxide or ammonia 2) it is not permanent hair color and therefore 3) does not cause sharp contrast at the roots; with each shampoo, it fades slightly pretty much on a par with hair growth, so that the roots' color is not sharply evident. I prefer this to peroxide dyes which do not wash out and render that awful 'skunk stripe' at the scalp. Also, my hair is thin and therefore one bottle lasts for multiple applications!
