I have a mast cell disorder which makes my skin hyperreactive to virtually all bath products and lotions. Therefore, I need something to put in my bath that will keep my skin lubricated and soft without causing an allergic reaction. Robathol is absolutely perfect for this! I use about 4 tsp (20 ml) in my bath so it goes a long way. A gallon lasts me about six months. I don't dry my skin after my bath and just let it soak in. It soaks in completely without leaving a residue on my skin and does a great job of lubricating my skin without causing a reaction. My only problem with this product is that it leaves an oily residue in the tub and on washcloths and towels (I've had to dispose of a couple of washcloths and towels because I couldn't get the oil out). I'm also concerned that it might be clogging my pipes and septic system, though the manufacturer claims that it doesn't (it builds up a residue on my drain stopper). Given my situation, I really have no choice and am just glad that this product is available. I purchased this in the gallon size through myotcstore.com which has always offered the best price on Robathol gallons that I've been able to find. I was extremely disappointed when they stopped offering the gallon size of this product, but now it's back!!! And it's the only place I've recently been able to find the gallon size. It's a lot more expensive than it used to be (about $30/gallon more), but still a significant savings over the 16 oz. bottles. With free shipping, I estimate that I saved about $35 over buying the equivalent amount in 16 oz bottles.
