Easy to Use:

Wash hands before unwrapping the filter.
Soak the new filter for 15 minutes.
Insert filter in reservoir.
Add cold tap water. It is normal for carbon dust to appear in your first 2 pitchers or 1 dispenser.
Discard this water, or use it to water plants.

The Calendar Minder:

Insert the new filter.
Set filter indicator to closes date 2 months from now.
On the date indicated, remove your filter and repeat steps 1 & 2.
