These work well for mild to moderate constipation, usually in around 5 to 10 minutes. I personally find the Fleet's Bisacodyl enemas to be a little more effective. According to the instructions on the package, you're supposed to use the knee-chest position when taking the enema. This is probably to insure that the small amount of liguid gets deep enough in the colon to be fully effective. The knee-chest position is fine if you have someone to help administer the enema, but it can be a little awkward if you're doing it alone. I've found that lying on my left side works about as well.

    It was packed well.
