- Nexcare digital thermometer is a durable and precise medical device. Here are some helpful hints to helps to get the best performance from the product.
- In oral use, as with all thermometers, keep thermometer in place without shifting it in the mouth while taking temperature.
- Stay with your child during temperature takingto help ensure proper use of the thermometer.
- Nexcare digital thermometer probe does not bend.
- Step 1:
- Press button to turn on the thermometer
- A beep signal will sound and, just for 1 second, the display will read as follows:
- This is a function check and it means the thermometer is working properly.
- Automatic night light display the night light display works automatically as turn the thermometer on.
- When turned on, the display will light up for 4 seconds to illuminate the last temperature taken.
- When turn off the thermometer, the display will light up again, illuminating the temperature reading for 4 seconds for easier nighttime reading.
- Step 2:
- Observe last temperature reading (memory feature).
- The thermometer remembers the last temperature it took. It will automatically show this last temperature after the 1 second function check.
- If this is the first time are using the thermometer (or if the thermometer did not record any temperature the last time it was turned on), for a 3 second period it will display:
- A thermometer that was previously used to take a temperature will display that previous temperature reading for 3 seconds.
- Step 3:
- Observe thermometer is ready for use
- After both the 1 second function check and the 3 second display of the last temperature, the display will start flashing.
- This flashing °F indicates the thermometer is ready to take a temperature.
- Step 4:
- Take temperature by oral, underarm (axillary) or rectal method.

Do not eat or drink 15 minutes before taking temperature.
- Oral Method: Place thermometer probe under tongue. Probe tip should rest in correct area. Hold the thermometer in the same spot under the tongue with mouth closed.
