INDICATIONS:

Similac Advance Infant Formula with Iron, Ready to Feed Liquid can help develop both your baby's immune system and brain like breast milk. Only Similac Advance with DHA and ARA provides both. DHA and ARA are fatty acids found in breast milk that are important for brain and eye development. The brain contains a large amount of both DHA and ARA and the retina contains a large amount of DHA.

Similac Advance provides greater calcium absorption and bone density than the other leading brand to help build strong bones. Like all Similac Infant Formulas, Similac Advance does not contain palm olein oil. Babies fed a formula with palm olein oil as the predominant fat source absorbed less calcium than the same babies fed a formula with no palm olein oil. Babies fed a formula with palm olein oil as the predominant fat source had lower bone mineral content than babies fed a formula without palm olein oil.

Features of Similac Advance Milk Based Infant Formula with Iron :
  • A milk based, iron fortified infant formula with special nutrients found in breast milk, DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) and ARA (arachidonic acid), for use as a supplement or alternative to breastfeeding.
  • DHA and ARA to help support brain and eye development.
  • Provides greater calcium absorption1 and greater bone mineral content2 and density 2 than Enfamil to help build strong bones.
  • A patented blend of special breast milk nutrients called nucleotides to help support the developing immune system.
  • Protein system results in a plasma essential amino acid pattern similar to that of the breastfed infant.

    Twin Mom

    Cons:
I have twins who were born at 32 weeks. They were on NeoSure while in the hospital but as they grew they developed stomach issues with gas, spiting up most of what they ate and crying during and after they ate. I was told to keep them on NeoSure by the Dr's even though it was making them sick until I finally couldn't take it any longer and I switched them to Similac Soy. I saw an immediate improvement with the spitting up and over time the gas pains went away. I told my doctor about the change and their weight was montiored very closely up to 6 mo's. They did great on this formula, and had no other health/digestive problems.

    Pricey but worth it...

    Cons:
My baby had a milk protien allergy which resulted in bloody stools. Alimentum got her on the right track in less than 24 hrs. It can definitely break the pocket book though. Just shop around and try to buy in bulk when you can. We're now to the point where she can handle a little soy formula, so we mix half and half. Cuts on some of the cost anyway... good luck with your little one!
