MANUFACTURER: MEDLINE INDUSTRIES.INDICATIONS: Medline SilvaSorb dressing sheets, size: 2 x 2 inches harnesses the power of ionic silver, releasing silver at a controlled level for broad spectrum antimicrobial action, without harming tissue cells. The ionic silver is suspended in the SilvaSorb dressing to control its release over a period of up to seven days. It offers antimicrobial protection over a broad spectrum of bacteria and fungi, including MRSA and VRE. SilvaSorb kills microbes, but is completely biocompatible with the tissue cells of healing. In addition to controlling bioburden, another key factor in wound healing is managing moisture level. These are made of special polymer that absorbs more than five times its weight in fluid. They have the ability to both absorb wound fluid and help provide moisture, depending on conditions in the wound. They also contain microscopic particles of controlled-release ionic silver to help provide antimicrobial protection.Applying SilvaSorb Sheets- Cleanse wound with normal saline or wound cleanser and gently dry surrounding area.
- Place either side of dressing on the wound. The dressing should extend 1/2' beyond the wound edges or SilvaSorb may be cut to size.
- Secure with an appropriate dressing like a transparent film or a composite island dressing or simply secure with tape.
When to change / reapply SilvaSorb Sheets- Dressing may be left in place up to 7 days, or as directed.
- If fluid leaks from the dressing, change it immediately.
Removing SilvaSorb Sheets- Carefully remove the secondary dressing and SilvaSorb from the wound.
- SilvaSorb can be remoistened with saline or wound cleanser to ease removal.
